Three organizations provide standards of practice for what the inspector should examine inside and outside your home. The American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI) applies a set of nationwide guidelines for each aspect of your structure. The California Real Estate Inspection Association (CREIA) employs similar guidelines for home inspectors in California. The International Association of Certified Home Inspectors (InterNaChi) sets international standards for home inspection.
